Becoming a Personal Trainer will improve health, happiness, and self-esteem. The US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion developed the Healthy People 2010 initiative. The US Government defined behaviors for living a healthy lifestyle. One key objective is to engage in routine physical activity. The government recommends at least 30 minutes of vigorous activity per day for adults. Personal trainers have ease of gym access and peer pressure to reinforce the physical activity needed by adults.

Exercise, in addition, increases the flow of the brain chemicals from the pituitary and hypothalamus glands particularly when an athlete uses the ready energy stores of glycogen. There is no secret that these chemicals such as endorphins, epinephrine, serotonin, dopamine and more elevate mood, sense of well being and happiness. Exercising alone, therefore, increases happiness, and working in a gym optimizes the potential for exercise. However, there are more than chemicals to the experience of self-esteem and health by living the career of a personal trainer.

A personal trainer shares their life space with others who are interested in improving life experience. Individuals who would pay for their services are highly motivated towards health. This is the antithesis of living with those who are careless about the state of their health. People who care for each other will sacrifice almost anything for each other including their health. One is infinitely better off to spend time and bond with others who regard their own health, self-esteem and happiness highly.

Self-esteem is how an individual measures themselves, whether they like or approve of themselves. The self-esteem of a personal trainer is generally very high. In the field of personal training, the trainer takes individuals who are out of shape and guides them toward an increased state of health. The trainer recognizes that he has had a significant impact on the life of their client for the better. This is repeated daily for that reinforcement of high self-esteem. The trainer, male or female, is helping to improve the life of those with whom they work, and thus experiences positive self-esteem. It is entirely clear that a career as a personal trainer enhances happiness, self-esteem and health.
