Do You Really Need Cardio to Get 6 Pack Abs?

So, you really need cardio to get 6 pack abs? Well the answer is yes – you do need some form of cardio, just not the conventional type.

Now, some of the slimmest people in the world, both men and women, never do any type of old style cardio, such 45 minutes or more of steady paced activity. Ok, so if you’re really overweight, then low-moderate level cardio activity can be effective, but even then, there can be more effective methods.

So, cardio, what is it? Most people would consider cardio to be putting ages on a treadmill, riding a bike at the gym, or steadily cruising on a cross trainer machine, while watching the TV shows at the gym. Sounds boring? Well no wonder people get bored and just give up a lot of the time.

However, I believe cardio can be considered any type of activity that strengthens your cardiovascular system. If it gets your heart pumping, and you are puffing and sweating even slightly… it’s cardio. So, holding dumbbells or a barbell, even though this is weights training…it’s still conditioning your heart.

Ok, so to get 6 pack abs, I challenge you to try this – 5 minutes straight of rotating – body weight squats, lunges, and push ups, and pull ups. That’s 10-15 reps, with a challenging weight, 5 sets with no rest between sets. I bet your heart would be pounding, sweat would be pouring off of you, and your chest would be gasping for breaths!

Not only do you save time with a work out like this, but you strengthen and condition almost every muscle in your entire body with these full body exercises. Scrap wasting time and effort with slow steady cardio, whilst watching TV. To get 6 pack abs simply switch to a circuit style workout and choose the right eating plan to speed up your fat burning.
