Running For Starters

Running is becoming one of the fastest growing niches in the health industry. You’d see people wearing that shirt that they just got from a fun run event. There a lot of people that are into running already. Children and adults are in it for the fun and the family bonding it gives them. For some, it’s just a way for them to get fit.

There are a lot of marathons all over the globe. From the 5 kilometers to the 10 kilometers for the starters, and some that can even reach 22 kilometers. Running with other people are fun because it creates camaraderie.

If you want to start on running, there are some tips that I can give you.

First, we should get consultation from a physician because our body has its own limits. Some of us may have problems in our body that we need to deal with before running.

Running shoes should be used for the activity. Not basketball, football or any other footwear. The shoes for this type of activity are designed solely for this activity.

Make a program. To start out, look for days where you’re free and relaxed enough to train for running. Next is to start from a short time span and increase it by five minutes every time you feel like you can do it already. Remember that you are still training. You don’t need to give your body a full blast because it might just weaken you.

Never forget the warm up and cool down. In warming up, walk briskly for five minutes gradually increasing your pace. Then you can do stretching for five to 15 minutes to loosen up the joints and make your blood circulate. In cooling down, gradually slow down running until you can go on a complete stop. Not doing any cool downs can make a person feel dizzy or even faint.

Lastly, never forget to hydrate. Our body keeps on losing fluid during the time we’re running. Remember that water is essential for our body to keep on working.

Serious runners finish the whole stretch. That’s what I love to watch about them. I haven’t started to run yet but I’m hoping I can do some soon. It’s just that my own priority every morning is waking up, feeding my dog and walking him. I just wish I can include him in the fun run as well. If ever there’s a running event where I can include my dog in it, I’d gladly join.
