The South Beach Diet that has come a lot crazy over the last four or five years, but what is the diet and how does it work?
The South Beach Diet is a new form of eating where they are talking about, you can eat carbohydrates and fats and they are not such a bad thing of fully well through. It is just the right carbohydrates to eat and the right fats. And what studies have shown is that if you get a correct balance it can be a healthy diet for you to pursue.
Are there bad types of carbohydrates and bad fats? Well, I suppose there are. It all depends on your view, but like anything it is in moderation and not in excess. It is where we go to excess that the carbohydrates and fats will bloat us out and can make us obese. Certainly, that is not something you want to do. You want to be in control and the South Beach Diet gives to you that control back.
NOT A SEVEN DAY WONDER
The South Beach is not a seven day wonder. It is taken over a period of weeks and in the first two weeks you may not lose that much weight, but if you use it long term you should lose eight or fifteen pounds in weight. You will learn over a period of time how to eat correctly, how to look out for those bad carbohydrates and those bad fats, and eat the right proportions of both of these food intakes.
The South Beach Diet gets its name from the South Beach in Miami with the highly respected cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston developed this form of dieting. He looked at the course of overweight and the problems that occur and try to eliminate those problem areas, the fat in your body. Such as the Atkins Diet works on the same sort of strategies and theories, eliminating the bad carbohydrates and fats.
There are two stages over a period of time that the diet works and the third stage is called a maintenance stage followed by your normal life. So, that is basically the end of the course. With the South Beach Diet you will be eating three well proportioned meals a day and two snacks. The plan has certain meal programs, but they are flexible and they can fit into your lifestyle when and how you choose. The real benefit is, once you follow this plan like any diet plan, you follow it through you will loose weight and you will feel healthy. And as with other plans, such as the Atkins Diet, they do question certain foods and they do eliminate the intake of those, which are often seen in excess and through their research and through the findings, this course that is being put together actually works for those people wishing to lose weight over a period of three weeks.
